The Windows 11 update has a brand new Task Manager. EVERYTHING has changed

The major Windows 11 22H2 update is expected in the fall of 2022, but all the innovations are already known now, since they have been available to testers for a long time. Surprisingly, there won’t be a lot of new features in this update – mostly various fixes and improvements. However, the Task Manager will be an exception, the design of which will be completely redesigned. Edition Windows Latest has already familiarized with the innovations.

The changes are dramatic and even affect the interface logic: the usual tabs, that is, “Processes”, “Performance”, “Network” and others familiar from older versions of Windows, are now displayed on the left, and not on top. There are several reasons: this arrangement is more convenient on tablets (touch screens) and looks more modern. The latter can be considered more than just a reason for a reason, since menu items appear on the left in both the settings of Windows 11 itself, and in the settings of the iPadOS system for tablets, and even in the settings of the latest macOS 13 Ventura system for Apple computers.

The new “Task Manager” uses the Mica effect – unlike the acrylic blur through which windows are visible behind, this effect adapts to the desktop wallpaper. In the screenshot above, this is clearly visible – Paint is open under the application, but it is absolutely not translucent. In addition, this approach does not load the system, while the blur effect would be quite resource-intensive.

Functional buttons such as “New Process” and “Restart Process” are now displayed on top.

Separately, the activation of the efficiency mode is highlighted – with it, processes are not closed, but their priority is lowered. This limits their resource intensity, that is, the load on the computer.
