“The Woman in Me”: Britney Spears tells her own story in autobiography

“The Woman in Me”, a book by Britney Spears, has just been released, but upon pre-sale it had already reached the best-selling position on Amazon. Much of the work’s success is due to the spoilers revealed, little by little, such as the abortion carried out in the 2000s when she became pregnant with Justin Timberlake.

“It is a courageous and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope. The book reveals for the first time her incredible journey – and the strength at the core of one of the greatest artists in pop music history,” says the book’s website.

Spears, in exposing her memories, revisits several of the darkest moments of her mental health struggles, many of which occurred in the public eye and around the world.

Still in the sales announcement, the website reinforces the importance of a woman being able to tell her own story and be heard. “In June 2021, the entire world was listening to Britney Spears speak in open court. The impact of sharing her voice – her truth – was undeniable and changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey and the strength at the core of one of the greatest artists in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.”

Physical, digital and audiobook

The book “The Woman in Me” is released to the Brazilian public by Buzz Editora in physical, digital and audiobook formats. In the audio version, the introduction is narrated by the artist herself. Meanwhile, the other chapters feature the voice of michelle williams .

Sources even told “TMZ” that the singer found it too painful to retell the sections about her family in her own voice, so the editors looked for an alternative.

The physical format has 288 pages, hardcover, and costs R$217.99 on Amazon including a free t-shirt. The translation into Portuguese is by Cristiane Maruyama.

The digital copy, in turn, is available for reading on Kindle at R$74.90, while the audiobook costs R$74.99.
