British company White Motorcycle Concepts intends to set a world speed record for electric motorcycles. She has created a unique prototype that it claims could break land speed records. The current record in the category “partially streamlined electric motorcycle weighing more than 300 kg” belongs to the former world champion Max Biaggi, who showed the speed of 366.94 km / h on the Voxan Wattman electric bike. Let’s clarify that this is the average speed over a 1.6 km section, calculated from the results of two runs in opposite directions.

The prototype, called the WMC250EV, is expected to surpass this speed significantly. The secret of the WMC250EV lies in its streamlined shape: a duct system dubbed V-Air runs along the entire motorcycle, which, according to its manufacturer, makes the WMC250EV the most “aerodynamically efficient motorcycle in the world.” By passing air through the motorcycle, and not around it, it was possible to significantly reduce resistance (the gain reaches 70%).

The rear wheel is driven by a pair of 30 kW electric motors, and the front wheel is driven by a pair of 20 kW electric motors. It is easy to calculate that the total power of the power plant is 100 kW or 134 hp.
The shape of the bike is optimized for rider Rob White. It was scanned with a 3D scanner to accurately line up the body contours.
A UK record will be attempted later this year, with a world record in 2022. The authors of the project believe that it will be possible to exceed the speed of 400 km / h.
