A smartphone on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 platform is no longer surprising, but a computer platform on this SoC is released for the first time. The device shown in the photo is the fruit of a collaboration between Qualcomm and the American company Lantronix.

Platform dimensions – 100 x 85 mm. In addition to the onboard Snapdragon 888 SoC, it contains Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC adapters, as well as 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 flash. Low on non-volatile memory? You can use microSD or SSD cards – for installing the latter, there are two M.2 slots. Interface connectors include a standard 3.5mm headphone port, two USB 3.0 and one USB 3.1 Type-C, and HDMI 2.0.

The platform supports the connection of additional modules, which include a 6.65-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, as well as various camera modules with a resolution of 48, 16, 13 megapixels.

Such a computer platform is intended for the development and debugging of various devices based on Snapdragon 888. Due to the specifics of the application, it will not go on sale. And the cost inspires – $ 1350! This is twice the price of the base Xiaomi Mi 11, which is equipped with all the necessary modules by default, and noticeably more expensive than the Galaxy S21.
