Google has announced an important strategic decision regarding its proprietary Google Chrome browser.

The developers are going to start rolling out functional browser updates every four weeks. Currently, updates are released every six weeks.
Developers will switch to a new schedule with the release of Chrome 94 in the third quarter of 2021. Another innovation is the Extended Stable option. It is aimed at corporate users who do not want to receive functional updates too often. For them, the Chrome update cycle will be 8 weeks.
The company plans to release security updates every two weeks for Extended Stable users, but these releases will not include new features.
According to StatCounter statistics, as of February 2021, Chrome accounts for 63.59% of the international browser market, followed by Safari with a huge gap of 19.37%.
