NiuLian Technology, a subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed company The9 Ltd, has purchased Bitcoin miners for the second time from MicroBT. This allowed us to increase the total hashrate of the company’s equipment by 40 PH / s.
The second batch consists of 482 WhatsMiner M31S + devices.
The hash rate of each of the ASIC miners is approximately 80-86 TH / s with a power consumption of 3360 to 3520 watts.
The9 and MicroBT signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in February this year. In total, The9 will buy 5,000 WhatsMiner ASIC miners over the course of the year.
In January 2021, The9 announced its entry into the cryptocurrency mining industry. Within two days of the announcement, its shares soared 140%. In the same month, the company acquired 26,007 bitcoin miners.
In March, The9 entered into an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 24,000 bitcoin miners of the Antminer S19j model. Deliveries will begin in November 2021.
