More and more bodies are joining the “Certificate of Tax Awareness” service, relieving traders from the obligation to submit tax information themselves, in order to be paid, as the process is now automated, without requiring any action on the part of the citizen or the service. In this way, the service for the automatic collection of tax information for public suppliers significantly facilitates the daily life of citizens and businesses.
In particular, the public bodies that receive the tax awareness certificate through interoperability now amount to 69, from 36 that were in 2020. In this way, in 2021 more than 340,000 tax information were automatically available, exempting the public suppliers (citizens and companies) by a corresponding number of visits.
Based on the relevant decision signed by the Minister of Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis and with the approval of the Secretary General of Information Systems of Public Administration, Demosthenes Anagnostopoulos, the online service is available through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat Πληροφο Information Office. The necessary information of tax awareness is obtained from the information systems of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE).
It is reminded that the service was put into operation in March 2020 with the Greek Parliament becoming the first body to utilize it, while in June of the same year the Central Union of Greek Municipalities followed. The list of providers that utilize this internet service is constantly expanding with the addition of new ones. Indicatively, some of the players that have been added recently are the following:
* Civil protection Ministry
* Ministry of Education and Religions / University Forest Administration and Management Fund
* Athens university
* G.N.A. “Sismanogleio”
* Coast Guard Assistance Fund
As stated by the Minister of State and Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, “in our planning the citizen is always at the center: every service we implement is designed in such a way as to facilitate the daily life of those who deal with the state. We have avoided 340,000 queues from digital tax awareness alone reflects the magnitude of the added value of digitizing services and interconnecting systems, constantly adding new services and records exponential progress in digital transactions “.
For his part, the Secretary General of Information Systems of Public Administration, Demosthenes Anagnostopoulos, pointed out that “the automatic raising of tax information was one of our first initiatives and we are very happy that two years later it facilitates its suppliers to such an extent “Through this service, man-hours of employees are saved, the relevant controls and payments are accelerated, reducing the bureaucracy for the Administration, as well as for the citizens and the companies, that deal with the State more simply and faster”.
