Northern Gaza no longer has a functioning hospital, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned this Thursday (21)
Richard Peeperkorn, WHO representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, said the last functioning facility in northern Gaza was Al-Ahli Hospital, but fuel, power, medical supplies and staff shortages made it “minimally functional.” .
Of the total of 36 existing in the territory, only nine would be working, in the south.
The comments come as a grim milestone is reached in the war, with the Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah reporting that approximately 20,000 people have been killed as a result of Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
However, Hamas has said it will not agree to any prisoner exchange negotiations until Israel ends the military operation in Gaza.
