There is a fast track process for supplementary pensions as well

By Dimitris Katsaganis

The government will follow a fast track procedure for the issuance of supplementary pensions. Immediately after the completion of the target for the elimination of the pending overdue applications for main pensions in August, e-EFKA will “run” a plan for the drastic reduction of the overdue applications for supplementary pensions, which are currently evaluated by the service staff. super-carrier at 90,000.

A key element of this plan will be the fast track process already established by the government for the main pensions. The same procedure, according to what e-EFKA executives report to Capital.gr, will apply to supplementary pensions from next autumn.

According to it, for the applications that have been submitted until March 31, 2022, it will be possible to immediately issue an approval retirement decision based on the electronic insurance history of the insured.

For applications submitted after 1 April 2022, if no decision has been taken within three months of the submission of the application, after three months the rapporteurs shall discontinue all correspondence to verify the information submitted by the applicant and the act of awarding a pension or the rejection decision is issued based on the data of the electronic insurance history of the applicant (“ATLAS” system or other electronic systems kept in EFKA).

The second key element of the plan to accelerate the issuance of supplementary pensions provides, according to information from Capital.gr, the transfer, from the fall, of 200 rapporteurs from the issuance of main pensions to the issuance of supplementary pensions. Thus, around 300 rapporteurs will deal with the issuance of supplementary pensions (compared to 100 currently employed) and around 300 rapporteurs will deal with the main pensions (compared to the current 500).

The third element of the government’s plan for faster granting of supplementary pensions envisages the involvement of certified accountants and lawyers, who are engaged in issuing main pensions, and in issuing supplementary pensions.

At the same time, it is reminded that all applications for supplementary pensions can be made digitally, ie through the electronic services of e-EFKA.
