The President of the United States, Joe Biden, stated, during a visit to Israel this Wednesday (18), that he is doing everything to free the Hamas hostages and that this is his main priority.
“To everyone who is in limbo desperately waiting to know the whereabouts of their loved ones, you are not alone. We work with our partners in the region doing everything possible to bring the hostages,” she said.
I cannot speak publicly about the details, but let me assure all of you as President of the United States that, for me, there is no higher priority than the safe release of all hostages,” he said.
According to the Israeli government, the radical Islamic group kidnapped 199 people during the terrorist attack on October 7.
Earlier, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the US president condemned the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel, saying that the group “committed evils, atrocities, which make Isis [Estado Islâmico] seem a little more rational.”
Biden stressed that, although Israel has the right to defend itself, “we also have to keep in mind that Hamas does not represent the entire Palestinian people, and has only brought them suffering.”
The American president arrived in Israel this Wednesday morning, where he met with the Israeli prime minister.
