Former US President Barack Obama said on Saturday (13) that there is absolutely no place for political violence in democracy following the attack on former US leader Donald Trump.
“There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. While we do not yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump was not seriously injured and take this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics,” Obama said.
According to the former Democratic president, he and his wife, Michelle Obama, wish the Republican a speedy recovery.

The case
Trump was removed from the stage at a rally after gunshots were heard at the scene.
Reporters at the scene reported hearing “a series of loud explosions or bangs” before Secret Service agents rushed toward him.
