There was no fair play, says Wanessa Camargo about expulsion from BBB 24

The singer from Goiás Wanessa Camargo , 41 years old, stated that she considered her expulsion from BBB 24 to be fair, when evaluating the rules of the reality show. However, she believes there was no “fair play ” from David Brito 21 years old.

“From the perspective of saying it was fair, under the rules of the program, I think it was fair [a minha expulsão]. About fair play, I don’t think it was fair,” she said.

“The opposite happened [Davi agredir ela]. We were playing tag team and he accidentally tripped me, which actually hurt me, it was very strong. And I understood that it wasn’t intentional, and I would never take it somewhere aggressive,” he added.

Considering her argument, Wanessa said she was surprised by Davi's accusation of aggression. “I could have used this rule to my advantage as well.”

Wanessa was expelled from BBB 24 after slapping Davi's leg while he was sleeping. She said she was drunk at the time and that the slap occurred unintentionally.

The statements were made in an exclusive interview, the first since she left the reality show, on Fantástico, a program on TV Globo. The material was shown on Sunday night (17).

Wanessa Camargo also commented on other situations she experienced with Davi on BBB 24 and the accusations of racism made by internet users, which she discovered when leaving the program.

Previously, she published a video on social media in which she apologized to Davi, his family and all black people who may have been offended by her actions.

Asked about the fear she said she had of David, and being reminded of the stereotypes of violent black men, Wanessa said that she now understands the problem with her statements and says she never intended to be racist.

“I understand that now [o esteriótipo], I understand this place of pain. But it wasn't my intention. I didn't say the word 'violent', I said that the way he sometimes went into battle was an aggressive way, which I didn't like”, he pointed out.

Wanessa also said she was scared by the fact that part of the program's audience called her racist. “I was really scared.”

Regarding the video she published, apologizing, she explained: “What I wanted to say in the video is that I did not intend to commit racism at any time.”

“What do I understand about structural racism, which I don't understand yet, because I have 12 days away from home, and I want to do literacy about it, I want to learn (…) I recognized that I am a white and privileged person and that I will never to know how some words, which have no effect for me, could have been sensitive to other people.”
