There was something rotten in Sweden

As the UK and half of Europe entered rigorous lockdowns in March 2020, the Swedish government limited itself to banning public gatherings, advising – for those who could – to work from home, and keeping schools open for under 16s. It was the Swedish model, which officially was based on individual responsibility: the goal was to protect groups at risk but to limit the consequences of lockdowns for the individual and the economy.

The debate about whether this approach worked or not lasted for a long time, in the world, because in all the countries where a lockdown had been made there was a clash between scientists and those who protested and supported the thesis of “controlled” diffusion. of the virus in society, to obtain herd immunity without vaccination.

The only certain data we had was this: Sweden has recorded death rates from COVID-19 ten times higher than its neighbor Norway.

But now there is news. It has just been published via the journal Nature, a study involving scientists and journalists from the country, which tries to explain what really happened in Sweden in 2020. The revelations are staggering. \

CHILDREN
Children were publicly rumored not to transmit the virus, while emails and internal documents discussed using children to spread the infection in society. However, parents who wanted to protect their children by keeping them at home from school were fined, and were instead urged not to say if their children were infected, so as not to “spread fear”. \

MEDIA HANDLING
The Public Health Agency has labeled the advice of national scientists and international authorities as extreme positions. The Swedish people have been kept in the dark about basic facts such as airborne transmission of the virus, that asymptomatic individuals can be contagious, and that face masks protect wearers and others. The use of face masks has been discouraged as “ineffective, dangerous and fear-spreading” tools, even in healthcare facilities, and retirement homes.

SENIOR CITIZENS
Many elderly people have been deprived of life-saving treatments and given morphine instead of oxygen despite available supplies, ending their lives. When a public outcry emerged, the narrative was that people in nursing homes were supposed to die soon anyway. Other elderly people died at home alone because they were sent home, considered not at risk. Triage indications have been discovered in order not to hospitalize people over 80 with comorbidities and overweight, because they are difficult to recover.

XENOPHOBIA
The study highlights how older people, people in nursing homes, individuals with a migration background and socio-economically disadvantaged groups have died. The same Public Health Agency argued that: “Corona infection in nursing homes may have been spread by staff with little command of the Swedish language”, “we have a greater spread due to the greater immigrant population”, ” only foreigners get sick ».

CONCLUSION
The study argues that WHO’s international advice and scientific method were not followed by authorities, with alternative narratives considered valid. No crisis group was formed in Parliament, Citizens never received an explanation of the reasons behind the government’s choices, and no one took responsibility for those choices. The study concludes that “democratic institutions have ceased to function” and calls this scenario of evasive responsibility, autocratic governance, cover-ups and secrecy “sovietization”.
