Turkey today began burying its dead, the victims of the devastating fire at the Grand Kartal hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort, the day after the tragedy that left 79 dead, in a climate of mourning, pain and anger over alleged negligence. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not hide his sorrow at the funerals of eight family members of a former MP of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Bolu, the capital of the province of the same name. The MP’s daughter, Zehra Sena Gultekin, and at least seven other members of her family perished in the flames, including her husband, four children, son-in-law and daughter-in-law.
