The story of a possible ban on sales in Russia of 61 models of modern Samsung smartphones has been continued. While in favor of the Korean giant.

Recall that last year the Swiss company Sqwin SA filed a lawsuit demanding to ban the use of the Samsung Pay payment service in Russia, as it violates the rights to its invention, the “Electronic Payment System”, protected by a Russian patent. As a result, all this led to the fact that in October another decision was made, within which all models with Samsung Pay that were banned were named. There were more than six dozen such models, including many of the latest devices.
A little later, Samsung filed an appeal, which has not yet passed. But yesterday it became known that the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal refused the Swiss company Sqwin SA, which asked as an interim measure to ban the sale in Russia of 61 Samsung smartphones with the Samsung Pay service until the entry into force of the judicial act.
Thus, for now, we are only talking about the fact that no one will ban the sale of Samsung smartphones until the appeal is considered and a verdict is issued. In addition, earlier Samsung Electronics Rus Company LLC applied to Rospatent with an objection to the issuance of the Electronic Payment System patent to Sqwin SA, due to which the first instance banned the sale of Samsung smartphones. Consideration of the objection was postponed several times and should now take place at the end of February.
