This Sunday morning (24), the Federal Police (PF) arrested those suspected of being those responsible for the murder of councilor Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes.
Upon arriving at the PF headquarters, the driver's widow said that the family is still seeking clarification about others involved.
“Even with some answers, there is still so much missing. It seems so close and yet so far away; at the same time that it seems like it was yesterday and like an eternity ago”, said the widow of driver Anderson Gomes, Agatha Arnaus. “There’s a lot left for us to have peace.”
In an interview with journalists at the PF headquarters, Agatha said she was experiencing a “mixed” of feelings at this time when, despite progress, there is still a lack of answers.
“It's even difficult to explain what I feel, there's a 'feel' of being on the path to relief, but there's still a weight, there's still pain. The pain will never go away. It’s still desperate.”
Earlier, Marielle Franco's widow, architect and councilor Monica Benício (Psol-RJ), said she believed that this was not the end of the case yet.
“It is without a doubt the beginning of a new fight because we want everyone to be held responsible and for us to have justice for Marielle and Anderson”, said the councilor at the PF headquarters.
“We want not only the masterminds to be identified, but all people who had some type of involvement to be held accountable under the law for what they did.”
