The reunions of musical groups are the order of the day, for this reason our adolescent emo Interno has jumped with happiness since bands like My Chemical Romance or Blink-182 announced their return to the stage. Although, mainly, they have hit our most depressive side, with the last announced return they hit us on our most rebellious side.
In case you didn’t know, a few weeks ago, the youth musical group Rebelde announced their tour I am Rebelde World Tour. With this, we finally leave behind our Merlina costume to resume our personality of Mia Colucci and the rest of the members. But there is bad news for those who thought they were Miguel Arango (Alfonso “Poncho” Herrera), since he is the only member of the group who will not be part of the experience.
Although Poncho Herrera has not come out to declare anything in relation to this new reunion of the band, on many occasions he has confessed that he has already left that stage of his life behind. In fact, we’re not at all surprised that the 39-year-old actor won’t be taking part in the tour, Well, for other meetings, like the one in Being or Seeming: The Global Virtual Union, has not been present.
Not only has he declared that singing again is not in his plans, but, in reality, this was never the dream of his life. For this reason, since the group’s last album was released in 2009, Poncho said goodbye to the microphones and gave himself fully to acting.
For now I am focused on acting and very happy with what is happening. I confess that singing was never my great passion, but RBD will always be a part of me.
Poncho’s decision has always been in the public domain, so much so that his peers fully understand his reasons and respect them. For example, Christian Chávez gave himself permission to confess for an interview with windowing that he and all the other members have always known what the passion of their friend and partner is.
Poncho never liked being on stage, he likes being in front of the camera more and he always told us so. He’s going to be a closet RBD, but we still love him.
