Israel confirmed that the Hamas released two of the hostages he was holding, Channel 13 News and Kan public television reported.
It is not clear what the source of the two media was. It was also unclear where the Americans, Judith and Natalie Raanan, who were kidnapped on October 7 when Hamas members launched an attack, were released.
The spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said earlier that the hostages had been released “for humanitarian reasons, after the mediation of Qatar”.
Their release also aims to “prove to the American people and the entire world that the claims of (Joe) Biden and his fascist government (s.a. on Hamas) are false and unfounded,” he added. Abu Ubaydah in this notice.
Hamas claims that is holding 200 hostages and that another 50 are being held by other armed organizations in the Palestinian enclave. It also said more than 20 hostages were killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza, but did not give further details.
