Intel introduced Alder Lake processors nominally a week ago. She did not disclose special details, only confirming what we knew before.

Recall that these will be heterogeneous CPUs, including both the older cores with the Golden Lake architecture and the younger ones with the Gracemont architecture. The company already has such CPUs – this is Lakefield, but the new generation will be more extensive and will also be released in the desktop segment.

Today one of the flagships of the new generation has lit up on the Web. The test CPU has 16 cores, eight large and eight small. The sample worked at frequencies of 1.8-4.0 GHz, but it is completely unclear how close they are to the final.

It should be noted that the software incorrectly determined the number of threads in some places. They should not be 32, but 24, since the lower cores do not support Hyper-Threading. The rest can be noted the third-level cache memory of 30 MB. The graphics core of the processor contains 32 computing units. Mobile CPUs should have significantly more of them.

New CPUs will be released in the second half of this year. They will use the new LGA 1700 socket, so users will have to buy new motherboards again.
