They are 33 and 35 years old and are already the youngest grandparents in the whole of the UK

Jenni Medlam, 33, and her husband Richard, 35, became the youngest grandparents in the UK. The news shocked the entire country because it is not a common situation and some of his friends and acquaintances were not even aware of it.

It turns out that most of the people who see their photos on social networks or usually find them on the streets believe that the baby they are carrying is theirs, but it is actually their granddaughter.

Sweet confusion

Jenni and her husband Richard barely reached 30 years of age and already became the youngest grandparents in the United Kingdom after their 17-year-old daughter Charmaine had a teenage pregnancy, a situation that they handled with all possible responsibility by chatting with her daughter, see a psychologist and a specialist doctor. In the end, everything turned out well and they welcomed little Isle-May.

It should be noted that Jenni was also a teenage mother and gave birth to Charmaine when she was also 17 years old. This small difference in ages has caused that when she and her husband take Isla-May for a walk, people think they have had a new baby, but they explain that it is actually their granddaughter and they are amazed.

When we go out with Isla, everyone assumes that she is my daughter and Richard’s. And when we explain that we are actually their grandparents, they get the scare of their lives.

The family never leave you

She knew exactly how Charmaine would feel having to tell her mother that she was pregnant. But I told her that it was her body and her decision, and that I would support her in any way. Now I am ‘Nanna’ and Richard is ‘Grandpa’. Being young grandparents means that you have more time to love your grandchild and more time to appreciate him.

Jenni and her husband remember that when they went through the same situation, they did not have a support network and it was extremely difficult to get ahead, but they did. History has impacted the United Kingdom because it is a country with a very low rate of teenage pregnancies, compared to Latin America. However, Jenni and Richard hope to be the best grandparents and are confident that their daughter will make an excellent mother.

Of course, the story went viral on the internet and other people have joined Twitter with their own anecdotes.
