They are not just poses: This is how Instagram provides mental health help to its users

Has it happened to you that you sometimes feel sad? Not a common sadness, but something deeper, more worrying, so much so that you come to think that it could be a serious problem. If the answer is yes, do not worry, we assure you that you are not alone, especially in these times.

The covid-19 pandemic that has been going on for almost two years has opened a Pandora’s box of countless additional problems, including mental health disorders. All those months of isolation, doubts and fear continue to take their toll on society, as afflictions such as depression or anxiety are more frequent than ever.

In addition to this, during social isolation, the use of networks and apps. While it is true that many people misuse them and can aggravate mental health problems, the reality is that we can also find positive aspects.

At least in Mexico, some of the professionals you can get in touch with when using the tools provided by Instagram are:

  • Everything improves Mexico that targets LGBTQ + youth
  • The Hispano-American Institute of Suicidology that prevents, treats and follows up with people with suicidal thoughts or tendencies
  • Start again, organization focused on the prevention of eating disorders
