Irritation continues to prevail in Turkey regarding the armament upgrade of Greece, mainly due to the recent decision in the American Congress that places conditions on the acquisition of fighters from Ankara.
As reported by SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Cumhuriyet newspaper hosts the issue on the front page with the title “In a few years, Greece will have supremacy on the airwaves”.
In the report it is noted, among other things, that “Turkey must move quickly” as “the Greeks are moving quickly with the fighters aircraft».
The opposition newspaper comments that Turkey bought the Russian S-400, but he didn’t manage to use them, while he doesn’t manage – as it seems so far – to get either the F-35s.
“The way things are going, Turkey in a few years takes the risk to lose air supremacy vis-a-vis Greece” the newspaper reports.
On the same wavelength and the newspaper Aksam, which points out that “Greek and Jewish lobbies are working against Turkey” and “put obstacles and conditions for the F-16”, referring to the conditions set in the Congressional resolution regarding the Turkish overflights and violations of Greek airspace.
While reference to the issue of Greek armaments is also made by the newspaper Milliyet.
