Something from my favorite series Game of Thrones reminded some of an incident that took place in a hotel pool in California, USA, and in particular the scene of the humiliation of Cersei Lannister, who is forced to walk naked among the crowd shouting “Shame!”.
A group of women in the hotel pool got into a heated argument with other people because they allegedly criticized a couple of women who were kissing in front of children.
The incident happened on Sunday at Sacremento’s Kimpton Sawyer Hotel and ended with the women leaving the pool area, when they were called “shameful” for their behavior towards the couple, according to a viral video posted on Instagram.
“They asked for one pair of “Women should stop kissing in front of children,” said Art Kaligos, the man who recorded part of the incident.
One of the women he kissed, Domonique Veasley, told CBS 13 that she felt separated from her, arguing that straight couples in the pool also showed tenderness.
“My initial reaction to the children was ‘oh yes’ but then I thought, ‘You’re asking me to stop being me,'” he said. “This is not OK anymore, it is 2021,” he added.
Some reports said the women were escorted out by security men, but one of their lawyers, Terry Fahn, said the group left on its own as it feared for its safety.
As the women were leaving, one of them, “Deb” as she is called because of the name on her mug, started arguing with people in pool shouting “shame”.
“I have never met anyone like you guys. Are you working with me? ”He is heard saying in the video.
“I have never been more ashamed of the human race in my life. “I am a Jewish woman from New Jersey, you are disgusting,” she continued.
The hotel manager condemned the incident in a statement.
