In Milwaukee, a judge has refused to reduce the bail imposed on a 10-year-old boy who was accused of intentionally killing his mother because she refused to buy him a virtual reality headset she saw online.

The minor’s attorney requested that the $50,000 bail set be reduced to $100, since the minor’s family does not have the necessary resources to pay it. However, Judge Jane Carroll refused to reduce the amount and added travel restrictions for the child if bail is paid. In addition, she requested that a GPS monitor be placed on her.
