They didn’t even take it with an “automatic”, but what will happen next? World sales of Lada collapsed

The published financial report of Renault, which is a shareholder of AvtoVAZ, contains fresh statistics on sales of Lada cars in the first quarter of this year.

According to published data, world sales of Lada cars, both in the Russian market and in all other countries, fell by 33.1% and amounted to 60.6 thousand cars. At the same time, the data of the Association of European Businesses were published earlier, according to which 52.7 thousand Lada cars were sold in Russia during the first three months. The drop in sales was 37% compared to the same period last year.

It turns out that export sales of Lada in the first quarter of this year amounted to about 7.9 thousand cars. At the same time, the source adds that Renault’s revenue from participation in AvtoVAZ decreased over the quarter in annual terms by 23.1%, to 527 million euros.

They didn’t even take it with an “automatic”, but what will happen next? World sales of Lada collapsed

Just yesterday, we reported that only a few cars with automatic gearboxes remained in Lada car dealerships, including traditional “automatic machines”, Jatco CVTs, as well as with the AMT branded VAZ robot, supplemented by German ZF actuators. For the foreseeable future, Lada buyers will have to settle for a manual transmission car. It turns out that sales of Lada fell off a lot when there were cars with “automatic” available. In the current quarter, the drop in sales may be even more noticeable.

Interestingly, in the first quarter, deliveries of Lada to the countries of the European Union increased by 49.5%, although they amounted to only 468 cars. That is, last year sales were very small against the background of the fact that the company was going to completely leave Europe.
