Telegram is unofficially considered a messenger that sets standards for others: it has repeatedly happened that at first some function appeared in Pavel Durov’s service, and then competitors copied it. However, even the developers of Telegram can’t think it through – Google Messages has a unique and really handy feature that others don’t have yet. It’s about setting up actions on swipe dialogs.
In the latest beta version of Google Messages with the number 20220721, the Swipe actions tab has appeared, which allows you to configure actions for swiping dialogs: archiving (used by default), deleting or turning off the gesture. This is reported by 9To5Google.
Google’s messenger is testing this to get rid of the problem of a poorly designed interface: now, for example, three actions are assigned to a swipe to the right at once (going back, pulling out a hamburger menu, and archiving dialogs), because of which users can accidentally archive a chat.

It is noteworthy that Telegram also has gesture actions on dialogs, and they are also a kind of problem if the user swipes between chat folders. However, in this messenger, you cannot disable or reassign swipes in any way.
