Volleyball next to a lava river coming out of the Fagrandalsfial volcano in Iceland some decided to play and the video quickly went viral on the internet, as expected.
The video shows the company having fun and the impressive volcano “dripping” lava nearby. None of them seem willing to stop the game to enjoy the spectacular spectacle.
The volcano is about forty kilometers from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik.
A Greek who saw the volcano of Iceland up close had recently spoken to newsbeast.gr. Antonis S. has been living in Iceland for the last five years and when he heard that the volcanic system south of Mount Fagradalsfjall had entered a phase of explosive activity he thought he should see it up close.
“As you go uphill you see the volcano popping up from afar and you are in awe. You approach and feel the earth alive under your feet. You cross a valley and begin to hear the magma boiling. In fact, as you get closer you see that the snow has disappeared due to the temperature, he had said.
“The temperature rises around 20 degrees Celsius while on the way it was around 2 degrees Celsius. It needs special attention… as you approach you must have the air in your back (as you look at the volcano) because the gases it emits are toxic and almost odorless “pointed out Antonis and added:
“You see the lava pouring slowly into the soil and you know that you are the last one to step on that spot because it will be covered with tons of molten basalt forever.”
