They shoot better than flagships, but they cost much less: HONOR 80 and 80 Pro are presented

Today, November 23, HONOR officially introduced its new HONOR 80 and HONOR 80 Pro smartphones to the market, the case design of which was conditionally leaked to the network some time ago. As expected, the novelties received a rather unusual case with a stylish camera panel, but the most important thing about smartphones under the hood is that they are quite productive and shoot very well, although they are positioned by the manufacturer as affordable devices, and not representatives of the flagship segment. For example, the base version in the line is the HONOR 80 smartphone – it received a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The performance of this smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G processor, which, although it cannot compete with flagship chips, supports all the necessary technologies and has decent performance. Also, the system-on-a-chip contains 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal memory, there is support for fast charging up to 66 W and a 4800 mAh battery. But the highlight of the device is the 160 MP main camera, which allows the device to shoot even better than some flagship devices. The smartphone comes with MagicOS 7.0 firmware based on the Android 12 operating system.

The specifications of the HONOR 80 Pro smartphone are quite similar, but there are still slight differences. For example, there is a slightly larger display – 6.78 inches. In addition, the resolution of the OLED display is 2700×1224 at the same refresh rate. The processor is a more productive Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 model, but there is the same amount of RAM and internal memory, plus the battery and operating system are also identical. There are differences in the main camera system – the main 160 megapixel sensor has not gone away, while the wide-angle camera is already 50 megapixels (instead of 32 megapixels in the basic version). The front camera has also received an upgrade – the base smartphone has 32 megapixels, while the Pro version already has 50 megapixels with an additional 2 megapixel depth sensor.

In addition, HONOR, as previously reported, copied the main feature of the iPhone 14 Pro – HONOR 80 Pro also has an island around the front camera, but it is not entirely clear what functions it will perform and what advantages this solution has compared to conventional widgets . And, of course, I would like to pay attention to the cost – HONOR 80 is sold for about 25 thousand rubles (if you transfer from yuan to rubles), while HONOR 80 Pro costs 33 thousand rubles. The devices will go on sale on December 2, and with such a ratio of characteristics to prices, they will obviously have buyers.
