A man lost his life trying to extinguish a forest fire in the Kastillis Region and Leon in northwestern Spain, the third victim of this summer’s fires in the country, authorities said today. “Today we are mourning a new death of a man who was involved in the battle force against the fires in Leon province, more precisely in the Valderia region,” Castile’s Regional Governor and Leon Nikanor Saint Velez wrote on social media. Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska confirmed this death on public television, reconcile “the family, colleagues and the whole society”.
