Third dose of vaccine: WHO will review the available next week

The committee of its experts World Health Organization (WHO) on vaccines will meet next week to review data on booster dose of the vaccine for coronavirus, a senior UN official said earlier today as rich countries intensified their vaccination programs to cover most of the population.

The leading scientist of the WHO Sumia Swaminathan did not specify the exact date of the meeting, Reuters reports.

He said, however, while informing the journalists, that the WHO will make recommendations for the use of these “Booster” vaccines after the examination of the subject by the experts.

THE Mike Ryan, the WHO’s director of emergencies, said there was no evidence yet that booster doses for the entire population, including healthy people, would provide greater protection against the disease, according to the RES EIA.

It is recalled that as the pandemic waves of the most contagious Delta mutation of the virus hit a number of countries in Europe and the US, many countries have adopted booster vaccination programs based on recommendations from domestic and transnational regulators. WHO has supported and continues to support, it seems, how it is more useful dosing in countries with low baseline vaccination rates, despite booster vaccination in populations that have already acquired significant immunity.
