This free utility makes Portable apps your default apps.

Portable applications are popular among users because they do not require installation and do not leave behind any files. Their main drawback is that Windows does not allow using such programs as default applications (for example, by clicking on a link in the t.me/s/trashbox_feed format, the system will not be able to launch the portable version of Telegram to go to the Telegram channel, but with a regular messenger client this succeed). The free and open source Portable Registrator utility fixes this problem.

Portable Registrator works very simply: when launched, the utility creates a configuration file with presets for the web browser and mail. Users can edit this configuration file to add other types of applications that should be opened in Portable programs. On the download page on GitHub, the developer posted instructions on how to do this.

The creator has tested Portable Registrator in Windows 7, 8 and 10, but the performance of the program in Windows 11 is still unknown (it simply has not been tested yet).
