The Google Camera app has received many one-star reviews on Google Play lately. His rating has dropped over the past year and a half from 3.8 to 3.3. In their reviews, Google Pixel users often complain that the application does not work or does not always work.
However, according to AndroidPolice, the search giant recently stated that the app doesn’t have any software-related issues. This means that users who face camera issues are plagued by hardware issues with their smartphones.
The number of reports of camera issues on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 smartphones is growing at a rapid pace. For some, the camera application simply crashes to the desktop, displays a black screen when loading, or displays an error message. The problem may be persistent, for others, the camera may sometimes work for short periods of time.

This shows up not only in the Google Camera app, but in Snapchat, Duo and other apps when trying to use the rear camera. Actions such as clearing app data, resetting to factory settings, and even rolling back the system software cannot fix the problem.
Some argue that placing a magnet near the camera can fix the error for a short time. The main Pixel Phone forum thread collected 800 comments on this topic, with about half of recent reviews on Google Play listing the above symptoms.
