“This is the center of the universe”: Youtuber claims to have recorded sound abnormalities on a bridge

Visual illusions tend to take the lion’s share when we talk about things that make us question reality. His anomalies audio however they can be just as strange, especially if they were not designed to confuse and offer a sense of secrecy. Everything that applies to his “Center UniverseThat is, a strange location known for the “pathology of its acoustics”.

It is located on a pedestrian bridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is characterized by a spot on the floor, a concrete circle surrounded by concrete suspenders and benches that form a wider circle around it. And when you press it, your voice echoes backwards but louder and the noises outside the circle are distorted.

The changes in the sound that drove Youtuber crazy

A video by Youtube user Trueson Daugherty entitled “A guy discovers the Center of the Universe” shows the echo effect from the inner circle (as well as the nearby “Artificial Cloud” statue).

There is no official explanation for how these irregularities are formed, but the most likely cause is the planters around it that reflect the sound waves creating the peculiar result. There are other anomalies in the world such as the “Mysterious Point of Lake George”. Also, a small round stone construction created some acoustic abnormalities.

Such strange acoustic lesions are also found in circular buildings. The dome of St Paul’s Cathedral in London is known as the Whispering Gallery, where low sounds are transferred to the huge dome thanks to the resonance of sound waves.

Similar structures are found in so many ancient and modern buildings. From the Mayan city of Chichen Itza to Grand Central Station in New York.
