A unique piece of Cabrales cheese from Spain won the title of the most expensive cheese ever sold at auction, reaching a stunning amount of 36,000 euros. This historic sale was made at an event organized by the DOP Cabrales Regulatory Council in Cabrales, Asturia on August 25, 2024. The cheese that broke the record came from the Ángel Díaz Herrero cheese factory. A renowned jury carefully evaluated the products of 15 different dairies. Each participant presented his best creations, both in lots and in individual pieces, in the hope of distinction.
