On April 21, Huawei began the second round of beta testing of the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, which became available to users of Huawei Mate 40, Mate X2 and other flagship devices.

The owners of these devices got the latest version of HarmonyOS and started sharing videos that list the operating system features. According to the published information, the new beta version contains a number of new changes in the user interface, which is noticeably different from EMUI 11 and seems more realistic and smoother.

According to early users, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro runs much better under HarmonyOS 2.0 than under EMUI 11. It is clarified that the smartphone has greater smoothness and optimized performance even at the beta testing stage, although some bugs still occur.

The demo shows us the newest quick settings panel and notification panel, which can be easily accessed with a variety of swipe gestures. The new widget system can be easily seen on the home screen and simplifies the management and grouping of applications. In addition, new animations on the home screen are also new for users.

According to Wang Chenglu, President of Software Development at Huawei Consumer BG and Director of AI Scenarios Business Unit, Huawei smartphone users will be able to upgrade to HarmonyOS in June after beta testing is complete.

Yesterday we posted a video demonstrating the HarmonyOS 2.0 branded ringtone on Huawei smartphones.
