Daimler today not only showed what the electric G-Class will look like, but also talked about the electric E-Class. The model is called the EQE and is a more compact and simplified version of the flagship electric sedan EQS (similar to the S-Class).
The start-up of the EQE does not look as impressive as the EQS, but in terms of length it is not much smaller – the difference is only about 10 cm.At the same time, the aerodynamic design characteristic of electric Mercedes-Benz has been preserved, and the range is decent – 660 km (although it was measured not a very realistic WLTP cycle).
The EQE will receive firmware updates over the air, just like the flagship, but the huge 56-inch “hyperscreen” is only available for a surcharge, as are the swiveling rear wheels (the EQS has it all in the base). And on the front of the EQE is a 12.8-inch OLED screen as standard.
The EQE line starts with the EQE 350 with a single 288 hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle. Such a car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just over 5.5 seconds. The capacity of a standard traction battery is 90 kWh.
Global sales of the Mercedes-Benz EQE will start in mid-2022. By this time, the company will offer more powerful versions.
