This is what the office of the future will look like

The managers of the largest companies in the world are practically unanimous: according to a recent report McKinsey, 95% of them believe that the pandemic has significantly accelerated the “digitization of the office and collaboration between workers”. In short, with the pandemic, work has become more flexible, more widespread, more digital. And it changes in all its aspects: from interactions between colleagues to the management of environments and offices, from formal situations – such as meetings and interviews – to more informal ones, such as a lunch break or a coffee break.

On the office of the future, start-ups are fielding ideas and solutions, from virtual offices to platforms to manage smartworking. Here are some ideas put into practice:

Yousign
It is a French startup that is bringing the advantages of electronic signature throughout Europe, helping companies and professionals to move documents and bureaucracy online to be able to conclude agreements even remotely (including employment contracts). But that’s not all: to tackle remote collaboration, the startup has developed a video game that faithfully reproduces office environments. In short, employees can, through an avatar, take their seats at their desks, reach the meeting rooms and even meet in the corridor to chat, with a webcam and microphone that are activated automatically at each “meeting” between the characters.

Nibol
Born as an app that allows smartworkers to book workstations in clubs and cafes, Nibol has extended its technological platform to companies, which use the tool to map their offices, allow employees to book their desks and, therefore, monitor attendance and organize spaces efficiently and safely. «The future of work will be based on a hybrid system, made up of smartworking and days in the office» explains Riccardo Suardi, founder of Nibol, «In this context, Nibol facilitates the management of spaces for both the company and the employee. We want to become the point of reference for the 360 ° management of the diffused office ».

Spatial
Augmented reality applied to the world of work: the American startup Spatial has raised 14 million dollars to reproduce the workplace with virtual reality. The avatars, in this case, are modeled in three dimensions, and can interact with the environment in an extremely advanced way: in short, the reproduction of ourselves can write on the blackboard or even take documents and attach them to a wall to support brainstorming.

Payfit
Payfit () is the French scaleup that is innovating the administrative management of personnel throughout Europe thanks to technology, with a software that allows you to manage the life of the employee at 360 °: leaves, illnesses, payslips and expense reimbursements. A functional solution that responds, however, to a widespread need at European level: according to a recent research by YouGov, only 44% of employees across Europe have used a digital tool for human resources management at least once.

Foorban
No more canteens, long lines with trays and shared tables: post-coronavirus lunch in the office changes along with the needs of companies and workers and becomes contactless and digital. Foorban interprets the change with innovative digital smart fridges linked to an app and filled with healthy, quality dishes (made by chefs and nutritionists).
