Xiaomi has explained the choice of the rear panel design of the Redmi K40 smartphone, which was presented to the public in its entirety today for the first time.
Designers were inspired by the pattern that can be seen on blades and knives made of Damascus steel. The Xiaomi spokesman said that this pattern was called “Feather Mo” (Mo Feather).

The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro will feature 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED Full HD + displays with 120Hz refresh rate. The older version will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, and the younger should receive the Snapdragon 870, while both models will receive UFS 3.1 flash memory. They will support 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, dual stereo speakers and support for Hi-Res Audio. The camera of the younger model will be 64-megapixel, and the older one will receive a 108-megapixel camera. The devices will run the latest Android 11 operating system with MIUI 12.5 shell.

The presentation is expected on February 25th.
