«This rocks!»: The podcast by Nicolò De Devitiis on Italian music hits in preview

Interviews, anecdotes, laughter and, above all, the background. These are the ingredients that make up the recipe for This rocks !, the new podcast of Nicolò De Devitiis produced by Dopcast which, in each episode, will try to tell what lies behind songs that have become iconic by talking directly with the artists who have brought them to success. The first date, which will be available on Wednesday 14 April on all digital platforms and that VanityFair.it lets you listen to a preview above, sees as protagonists i Nuclear Tactical Penguins, ready to tell what lies behind one of their most successful hits, which came third at the Sanremo 2020 Festival: Ringo Starr.

The other five episodes, however, will not lower the bar, since to confide in De Devitiis will be great names in Italian music such as Aiello, Alex Britti, Carl Brave, Gazzelle and Levante. “The protagonists I wanted with me for the first season of my podcast are “friends”. They are artists that I have always chosen thinking of different musical genres and periods »says Nicolò, excited to embark on this new adventure. «I wanted the Nuclear Tactical Penguins, Riccardo and Elio, and then Alex Britti with an extraordinary hit from the 90s and Aiello and his smash last summer. And again Levante, Carl Brave and Gazzelle which boasts more than 40 million plays with the album Ok. I chose to start with the Nuclear Tactical Penguins because, telling Riccardo Zanotti my idea of podcast last December, his answer was “it’s a bomb, Spacca!” and from here I chose the title “This splits!” ».

«The heart of this podcast is not to tell the artist’s most famous hit, but the one that changed his career and the exact moment in which they thought “This breaks!” »concludes De Devitiis confirming that the attention will be entirely directed to the genesis of a hit how it is conceived, composed, recorded and published by the artist. Most of the songs, after all, remain simply a song, and very few of them manage to become catchphrases: discovering them together with the irony and grace of the conductor can only be a fresh and sparkling journey that, we are sure, “will break »For all listeners who will have the pleasure of immersing themselves in it.
