This Saturday’s Mega-Sena prize could yield BRL 9 million in 6 months; know how

Caixa Econômica Federal is holding this Saturday (19) the draw for the Mega-Sena contest whose prize is estimated at R$ 190 million.

Survey carried out by Michael Viriato, strategist at Casa do Investidor, at the request of the CNN Brasil Businessshows the yield of this amount in fixed income, after the Copom (Monetary Policy Committee) raised the interest rate to 11.75%.

This was the ninth consecutive rise of the Selic, which reached the highest level in five years. The basic interest rate of the economy is used as a reference when asking for a loan or making an investment, for example.

The study by Casa do Investidor points out the values in the short, medium and long term on savings, Treasury Direct, CDBs and DI funds, which have a predetermined yield and which accompany the CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate), a security issued in operations carried out between banking institutions.

If the Mega-Sena winner takes the R$ 190 million prize alone and chooses to invest all the money, the medium bank CDB is the best option in any period.

In the short term, or six months, the final amount is R$ 199,211,738; 18 months, BRL 220,914,162; and 30 months, R$ 246,043,266.
