This week Apple will start selling original parts to unofficial Russian services

The American company is expanding the Apple Independent Repair Provider (IRP) program, announcing it in Russia and almost 200 other countries. Repair providers will now have access to the original Apple parts, tools, manuals, and diagnostics they need to repair devices safely and reliably.

The company provides free access to the program. The only condition that the corporation has put forward is that only an Apple certified technician must work in the service center to get the job done. It should be noted that getting a certificate is quite simple: you just need to pass a special test and confirm your qualifications.

Those service providers who fulfill this condition will be able to purchase the necessary original repair tools at the same price as the official representatives of the company. Free access to training will be a nice bonus.

Since the beginning of April, unofficial Russian services can apply for registration in the program. In addition to Russia, Apple Independent Repair Provider will start operating in Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Nepal, Cambodia, Bhutan, Maldives, Turkey, Thailand, Mongolia, Pakistan, Laos, UAE, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Guam , Indonesia, India, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Cook Islands. The rest of the countries will have access to this program in the second half of 2021.

Apple Independent Repair Provider was launched in 2019 in the US. Currently, the program is used by 1,500 service centers in the USA, Canada and Europe. The company plans to expand the service to almost all countries in which Apple products are sold.

It is important to note that the basic conditions of the program are in the public domain. To join the IRP, according to Vice’s internet portal, unofficial repair shops must agree to surprise inspections by the company, which are designed to find “dangerous” non-genuine parts. If found, a fine. And even if the service provider leaves the program, Apple reserves the right to continue the inspection for another five years.
