Remember the case
Marcelinho disappeared on December 17, 2023, after leaving singer Thiaguinho’s show, at Neo Química Arena, in Itaquera, and was taken into captivity.
At the time, police said that the kidnappers initially asked for R$30,000, which was paid via Pix. The criminals then allegedly asked for another R$30,000 and then another R$200,000.
The former player’s car had also been located by the PM in Itaquaquecetuba. According to the region’s police, agents from the 35th BPM/M were called after residents reported a case of vehicle abandonment on Jacareí Street, in Jardim Valparaíso.
Back when the case was still ongoing, before Marcelinho was released, a video circulated on social media showing the former player with a black eye and saying he had been kidnapped after having a relationship with a married woman, identified as Tais. Marcelinho explained that Tais was just a friend, that he had known her for three years and that he had nothing to do with her.
