An incredible achievement was achieved by the MacLein brothers from Edinburgh, completing the crossing of the Pacific Ocean with a record time. Jan (33), Jamie (31) and Lahlan McLean (27) finished the 14,500mm trip from Peru to Australia in 139 days, 52 hours and 52 minutes, writing history. The three brothers started from Lima on April 12 and arrived in Kerns, Australia, on Saturday, where they were warmly welcomed by more than 50 relatives, friends and fans. The reception was full of emotion, as the crew had spent almost five months at sea, facing adversity and shortcomings. “I will not surprise anyone if I say that all I want is a pizza,” Jamie said, explaining that in recent days supplies were almost exhausted.
