Three Royal Army soldiers Dutch were wounded in a shooting outside an Indianapolis hotel in United States on Saturday (27), officials said.
The soldiers, members of the Dutch Command Corps, were in Indiana as part of a training exercise, the Netherlands Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
Officers responded to a call shortly before 4:00 a.m. and found three men with shots according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
All three were taken to a local hospital, with at least one of them in critical condition, officials said.
“Preliminary information suggests that a disturbance occurred between the victims and the suspect(s) that resulted in the shooting. Detectives do not believe it was a random act and that there is no immediate threat to the area,” Indianapolis Police said in a press release.
The shooting took place outside the hotel where the soldiers were staying and took place during officers’ off-hours, according to a statement from the Dutch Defense Ministry.
Dutch soldiers were training at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, a 1,000-acre complex southeast of Indianapolis that is being used for training by the Department of Defense “as well as other allies,” the Indiana National Guard told the CDC affiliate. CNN WISH, in a statement.
The shooting is under investigation and authorities have not reported arrests in connection with the incident.
