Three human skulls are found in less than 24 hours in MG; police investigate

Three human skulls were found in less than 24 hours, between Wednesday (3) and Thursday (4), in Governador Valadares, in the eastern region of Minas Gerais.

They were found in two different incidents — both are investigated by the Civil Police.

According to the Military Police, the first skull was found on Wednesday afternoon, next to garbage bags, on a sidewalk on Rua Sete de Setembro, in the Esplanada neighborhood.

Images recorded by forensic agents show that the skull was cut at the top, and still has some teeth.

The other two skulls were found on Thursday morning, in a landfill in the Turmalina neighborhood. The objects were inside a bag, and were found by a recyclable collector, who left them at the scene.

A few hours later, city hall garbage collection workers spotted the skulls again. According to the PM, the jaw of one of them was stuck with glue.

Given the preserved nature and no signs of violence of the bones, the Civil Police believe that they could be objects of study.

In a statement, the corporation informed that an investigative procedure will be initiated to determine the origin of the skulls, which were sent to the Medical-Legal Post (PML) of Governador Valadares.
