Three Melonian ministers are referred to trial for controversial liberation of Libyan general

The “Special Judicial Council”, which has the power to investigate cases involving members of the Italian government, called for a trial of Justice Minister Carlo Nordio, Interior Minister Matteo Piadentozi and Deputy Minister despite Prime Minister Alfredo. As for Prime Minister George Meloni, on the contrary, it was considered that there is no evidence to request her referral to Italian justice. The whole case concerns Libyan General Nazme Osama, also known as Al Masri, who was arrested in Turin on January 19th. His arrest was based on a warrant of the International Criminal Court, which he considers Al Masri responsible for war crimes and torture. After three days, the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office had decided to release the Libyan wanted, who was immediately transported to Tripoli, by an Italian state aircraft.
