Three new road projects over 500 million euros are up for auction

Three major road projects are being prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in order to complete the necessary studies and be put up for auction in 2022.

These three projects have a total budget of over 500 million euros.

These are the road axis Ioannina Kakavia, the section up to the Psachna bypass (Chalkida) as well as the triple Skaramaga junction.

The largest of them is the section Ioannina – Kakavia which will connect the Ionian Road with Kakavia at the exit point in Ioannina.

The length of the highway, which was recently mentioned by the Prime Minister Mr. Mitsotakis, is 70 kilometers, its construction will be with specifications of four-section section, while it will have a total of 13 uneven junctions and its width will be 12.5 meters.

The road section to Psachna Bypass (in Chalkida) is also expected to be put into operation, with a budget of about 200 million euros.

These are the options for the three secondary sections in the project of the Chalkida Psachna Bypass: 1) “High Bridge – Nea Lampsakos” length 4.0 km. 2) Connection North-South Evia (length 2.4 km.) 3) Section Psachna bypass (length 4.6 km) “.

These three sub-projects, because they are less mature in terms of design, in relation to the main project (Chalkida – Psachna Bypass) and as mentioned above will be executed with the option. This means that the contracting authority has the right to ask the contractor to build these parts on the same terms that apply to the main part of the project.

Finally, one of the important projects prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is the triple Skaramaga junction, a project of vital importance for Western Attica, as it is expected to decongest the traffic on Schistou Avenue and Athens Avenue, while the upgrade is uneven. Skaramaga junction will greatly improve traffic on the National Road which is daily plagued by thousands of vehicles.

This project, which started in 2000 and has not yet been completed, has a total budget of 55 million euros.

With the construction of the triple junction, there will be a new connection of the National Road with Schistou Avenue, the semi-open Regional Egaleo will be completed, which will connect Schistou Avenue with Attiki Odos, the opened tunnels “ghosts” will be completed and will operate. at the turn to Skaramagkas and finally a junction will be constructed that will directly connect the Skaramagkas Shipyards with Athens Avenue.
