From a legal point of view, companies are not obliged to close or rest on days when Brazil is playing in the 2022 World Cup. However, 73% of companies will release employees in some way so that they can watch the matches, shows research with the human resources of 687 companies carried out by Catho, a job classifieds platform.
Only 16% of the companies surveyed will not release employees in any way during matches. A small portion, 2%, will offer the possibility of home office at game time.
Employee releases can occur in a variety of ways. The most common, according to the survey, is the release one hour before the games, applied by 29% of the companies consulted.
There are also those that release two hours (15%) and 30 minutes before games (12%). Collaborators of 4% of the companies will be released only at the time of departure.
Among these companies, some are more flexible: 9% will release employees part-time or more, while 3% will release three hours before games. A minority, 1% of companies, will release the entire day. Among the interviewees, 3% of HRs have not yet defined such measures.
Despite the vast majority of companies offering some form of team release, 64% will stream office games. Other actions related to the Cup are also carried out, such as the sweepstakes, present in 22% of the companies consulted.
The research also verified the existence of raffles and prizes (7%), online fans (6%) and online games (2%).
