Three people are shot in a shooting during a football game in RS

Three women were shot during a shootout that interrupted a football game in Rio Grande, in the south of Rio Grande do Sul, this Sunday afternoon (23). According to the Civil Police, the victims, two women aged 40 and one aged 44, are not at risk of death.

According to the delegate responsible for the case, the match took place on a court outside a shopping mall, in the Parque Residencial São Pedro neighborhood. Two amateur teams, from different neighborhoods, competed in the game for the city’s amateur championship.

The local radio Tamandaré broadcast the game live. In the images, it is possible to see that the game is interrupted by confusion among the fans, and soon after three shots are fired. The people who were at the scene run out and, afterwards, around ten more shots can be heard.

Initially, the Civil Police’s suspicion is that the confusion began after a penalty was awarded. Investigations continue to try to identify the person responsible for the shooting. So far, no one has been arrested.
