Three people die after building collapse in Espírito Santo

The collapse of a building in Vila Velha (ES), on the morning of this Thursday (21), caused three deaths: a 15-year-old teenager, a 36-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man.

The teenager had been located by teams under two slabs and many beams, dying while they were working to rescue her.

“The Military Fire Department and other bodies involved in the search operation deeply regret this loss. We were very close, but our time is not God’s time.

In the early hours of Friday (22), the 70-year-old man was found by the Fire Department. According to the corporation’s statement, he was at the place indicated by the dog that assisted the operation.

The searches were carried out by 48 military firefighters from teams from Vitória and Vila Velha, with support from the Vila Velha City Hall, the Municipal Civil Guard, Civil Defense, the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy (Crea) and the residents’ association.
